On this house we added a once story modular addition on the back and changed the roof on the existing house to a 12:12 pitch for a generous space to use for the kids. The modular addition improved the flow of the main level of the house by expanding the kitchen area into the new addition and adding a new master suite and one additional bedroom. A stairway from the new open area leads up to the new expanded upper level in the existing house.
